It is a fast and widely available imaging method. For many organ systems, ultrasound is the preferred initial imaging modality.

Abdominal Ultrasound
Abdominal ultrasound examination provides precise information about the shape and structure of the liver, bile ducts, gallbladder, pancreas, and spleen. It also allows for a thorough examination of the kidneys, abdominal blood vessels, and the condition of the intestinal wall.
Pelvic Ultrasound
In pelvic ultrasound, the uterus and ovaries in women and the prostate in men can be examined. The structural changes observed in these organs can provide valuable insights into the origin of diseases.
Neck Ultrasound
The arteries running through the neck play a crucial role in the blood supply to the central nervous system. If symptoms such as dizziness, headaches, tinnitus, vision problems, or audible murmurs during auscultation of the arteries are present, a neck ultrasound is recommended.
Thyroid Ultrasound
When there is suspicion of thyroid disorders, ultrasound is usually the first examination performed. Inflammation, enlargement, tumors, or nodules within the thyroid gland can be responsible for both underactive and overactive thyroid function.
Breast Ultrasound
It would be incorrect to assume that breast cancer only affects middle-aged women. It is increasingly affecting young women as well, and it can also occur in men.
The advantage of breast ultrasound is that it provides detailed imaging even at a young age, which is why this examination method is recommended for individuals under 35 years old. It not only visualizes abnormalities that may not be detectable by touch, but also provides information about their structure and composition.
Women between the ages of 20 and 35 are advised to undergo annual breast ultrasound screening. After the age of 35, ultrasound is recommended as a complementary examination to mammography (X-ray examination of the breast tissue).
Ultrasound examination does not impose any stress on the body and does not cause any discomfort.
Procedure of Ultrasound Examination
Our specialists make the examined area accessible, and in certain regions (e.g., breast ultrasound), they palpate the specific body part to assess if there are any palpable abnormalities.
During the ultrasound examination, the skin is coated with a special gel that facilitates the propagation of sound waves and enables smooth movement of the ultrasound probe.
Ultrasound is a safe, reliable, painless, and radiation-free procedure. It can be repeated an unlimited number of times.
Preparation for Abdominal Ultrasound
- : Do not consume any food for 6 hours before the abdominal and pelvic ultrasound examination
- You may drink still mineral water or tap water abundantly
- Adequate fluid intake is essential, as a full bladder is necessary for the examination
- Avoid consuming gas-producing foods on the day before the examination
- Diabetic patients should inform the staff about their condition before the examination, so that the optimal timing can be ensured and further advice can be provided
When can you expect the results?
After the ultrasound examination, patients receive the evaluated report immediately in printed form and also via email.
